Catherine Moncus

Catherine Moncus has spent the past 27 years advocating for individuals and families across Alabama and beyond. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Association for Justice and chairs its Sole Practitioner and Solo Firm Caucus. She also serves as Treasurer of the Women’s Section of the Alabama State Bar. Catherine’s commitment to justice and professional integrity has earned her the prestigious AV Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell—the highest distinction for legal ability and ethical standards. In 2025, she was named to The Best Lawyers in America and was inducted as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF), an international honorary society whose membership is

limited to less than 1% of lawyers in each jurisdiction. Earlier in her career, she was selected among the Top 100 National Trial Lawyers, an invitationonly recognition reserved for elite civil plaintiff and criminal defense attorneys nationwide.

In 2021, Catherine was admitted to both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the

MultiMillion Dollar Advocates Forum, two of the most exclusive groups of trial lawyers in the country. Membership is limited to attorneys who have secured million and multimilliondollar verdicts and settlements—an achievement earned by fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers. A native of Alexander City, Alabama, Catherine continues to make her home there with her husband, Ricky Moncus. They are the proud parents of two sons: Austin, a teacher and Varsity Basketball Coach at Stanhope Elmore High School, married to Jessica Towry Moncus, a CPA with Jackson Thornton in Montgomery; and Dylan, an Assistant Golf Professional at Holston

Hills Country Club, married to Maddie Northington Moncus, a Pharmacist at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
